Every Sunday morning Mr. RCGG and I have breakfast together. It’s his only real day off from work. A couple of weeks ago I made French toast. I found a recipe on Pinterest for a French Toast Cracker Barrel copycat Recipe.
This French toast was so easy to make! I honestly didn’t think it would be this easy since I had never made it before.
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 pinches salt
8 slices of thick bread
2 teaspoons cinnamon
In a large bowl whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt together.
Heat a skillet to medium heat. Grease with butter.
Dip bread in egg mixture for 30 seconds on each side.
Place in skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
It really is that simple! Mr. RCGG and I had ours with maple syrup and butter. There’s so many ways to make french toast though! You can add your favorite fresh fruit as a topping or make stuffed french toast by adding the fruit to the middle with some cream cheese.
Have you ever made french toast? What’s your favorite topping?
