Six Things to Say on Purpose

In the past I have kept my faith to myself because I felt it was somewhat of a controversial subject. There are so many different religions that I didn’t want to offend any of my readers in case they weren’t of the same faith as me. Well, I decided that this was a dumb reason for not taking the chance to maybe reach out to someone that may not know God. I realized that there may be someone out there reading my blog that doesn’t know God, that may be questioning their faith in God, or was going through a rough time in life. Maybe someone needs to see what I have to say!

Six Things to Say on Purpose

I read a daily devotion from Joyce Meyer every day! I have her daily devotion book called The Confident Woman and get a devotion email every day. In one of the emailsĀ  there was a link to six things to say on purpose. It really made me think about what I should do just in case someone needs to hear God’s Word.

Six Things to say on purpose:

Use your words to bless.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]. We have to pay attention to what we say. You know the saying “think before you speak”.

Joyce Meyer says this prayer every day before she starts her day, God, I bless this day in Jesus’ name. I bless my husband, my children, my grandchildren, and myself in Jesus’ name. I am blessed when I come in and blessed when I go out.

Be thankful and say so.
Psalm 100:4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name!

Tell people you are thankful for what they do. Even if you are in a hurry just take a minute to tell someone that you are thankful that they took time out of their day to do something for you! It may be the cashier at the store doing her job, but she’s helping you give food to your family.

Encourage, edify, and build others up.
Isaiah 50:4 [The Servant of God says] The Lord God has given Me the tongue of a disciple and of one who is taught, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He wakens Me morning by morning, He wakens My ear to hear as a disciple [as one who is taught].

Make a commitment to God to encourage people! Sometimes people need to hear encouraging words to make them feel better about themselves. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you who needs encouragement.

Tell the truth.
John 4:24 God is spirit and His worshipers must worship in the spirit and truth. The truth is rewarding. It makes you feel better and others around you feel better.
Proverbs 23:23 Buy the truth and sell it not; not only that, but also get discernment and judgment, instruction and understanding. If you don’t tell the truth it might cost you a friendship or even worse a relationship. There will be times when you need to make a sacrifice if you commit to the truth. Keep it to yourself and it will be rewarding. John 8:32 Then, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.

Speak the Word of God.
Jeremiah 23:28-29 The prophet who has a dream, let him tell his dream; but he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What has straw in common with wheat [for nourishment]? says the Lord. Is not My word like fire [that consumes all that cannot endure the test]? says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks in pieces the rock [of most stubborn resistance]? Speak the Word of God into the face of your problems and it will eventually break you of them. If you are having a problem then pray about it and it will break it like a hammer.

Don’t talk too much.
Proverbs 10:19 n a multitude of words transgression is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is prudent. There are times we just need to listen and let others talk! We have to learn to be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. God gave us two ears, two eyes, and one mouth! I think He was trying to tell us something with that one.

Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God). God can help control your tounge and lead you by the Holy Spirit every day! Concentrate on His goodness, and encourage others and you will get more joy out of life!
But the human tongue can be tamed by no man. It is restless (undisciplined, irreconcilable) evil, full if deadly poison. With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse men who are made in God’s likeness. James 3:8-9

If you have God in your life then you can do anything! If you have been moved by this then please read the Roman Road to Salvation. Here you will find the Bible verses to accept Jesus as you Savior!

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that you give these words to someone that may have needed to hear them. I pray that my words help them to realize hat there are people that care about them. If there’s anyone that feels like they are lost in the world I want them to know that they aren’t lost anymore. I want everyone to know Your love and Your Word! Help them to find this post and just maybe it can make a difference for them!
In Your Name,
Amen
