New Year’s Eve Recipes

Well, another year is coming to an end.  Are you as shocked as I am about how fast 2010 has gone by?  It doesn’t seem like we should be getting ready to ring in a new year already!  Are you doing anything special for New Year’s Eve?  I want to go to Times Square someday and ring in the new year there with all the crazy people!
We are staying home again this year and just hanging out with N’s family.  We usually have snacks to eat and drinks.  I thought I would share some recipes with you that you can make for your family.  I hope you enjoy them.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs
1 pound frozen meatballs
1/2 cup chopped onion
3/4 jar Heinz chili sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch whisked into 1/2 cup water
black pepper
2 1/2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce

Mix all ingredients together and let simmer over medium low heat until onions are soft and meatballs are cooked through.

*If these are to zingy you can add some pineapple juice or ketchup.

Hawaiian Meatballs
2 pound bag of frozen meatballs
1 ten ounce jar pineapple preserves
1 eighteen ounce bottle BBQ sauce

Pour meatballs into a 5-6 quart slow cooker. Add preserves and BBq sauce and stir well. Cover and cook for 3-4 hours until meat balls are hot stirring several times.

Well, these are the ones that I am going to be making!  Who knows what else we will have!

I hope you have a great week.  I will resume Crafty Tuesday after the new year.
