I know I have been neglecting my blog over the past week. It has been one of those weeks that there has been nothing going on around here. This past week has been nothing but rain, rain, and more rain. There has been flooding in the metro Atlanta area and that includes our area. We haven’t had the amount of flooding that other places have had but we have seen some flooding. The Etowah River, which runs behind our house, had risen over the flood stage, but went down a bit today. So we didn’t have any water in our yard. That’s a good thing. There have been school closings and road closings. Atlanta roads were closed and it was insane because there were people attemping to drive on the roads when they were closed. Traffic was at a stand-still for hours because of that. Anyways, other than the great Atlanta flood, there hasn’t been too much going on this week.
Is it bad that it isn’t even Halloween and I am already thinking about my Christmas baking and a couple of gifts that I am going to make? I made a list of all the people that I usually bake things for and a list of some ideas of what to bake this year. I am not saying what I out on this list because people that are getting the gifts might see this. I have also thought about making the containers to put everything in instead of buying the plastic containers at the store. I might go to Hobby Lobby or Michael’s and get some mache’ boxes and some Christmas paper and put that on the boxes. I have also thought about a cute decoration for Christmas. When N and I went to visit my parents in July, they gave us a cute Santa. http://olliebelle20.blogspot.com/2009/08/santa-claus-in-corner.html Anyways, I thought about getting some blocks of wood in different sizes and wrapping them in Christmas wrapping paper and putting Santa by the white tree that I had in my room in Illinois. Last year we put it out on our deck. Anyways, then we will have Santa by a tree with presents. I think it will be cute. I will take pictures of all my Halloween and Christmas decorating to post when the times come.
I think that is it for my randomness for the week. So I will try to post more later. I have been also neglecting my recipes. I will get back to that next week. have a great week.
