You Might Not Know

Have you ever wondered what makes up the randoms of the RCGG? I thought it would be fun to share a few things you might not know about me!

I love Audrey Hepburn, Clark Gable, Humphrey Bogart, James Dean, and Vivien Leigh. My favorite movies are Wizard of Oz, Casablanca, Gone with the Wind, Rebel Without a Cause, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
I’m 32 years old and I still sleep with a teddy bear and my baby blanket. My teddy bear is a purple bear that Mr. RCGG gave me for Christmas fourteen years ago while we were dating. I named him Purple Bear because he’s a purple bear. Go figure right? Haha!
Mr. RCGG and I will have been together for fifteen years this October. We were married 3 years ago this July. We share an anniversary with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.
I am still friends with the ladies from the July 2012 month board on the wedding website The Knot. I planned our wedding with these ladies and now we have a group on Facebook where we share recipes, stories, and just life in general. We have become very close over the past three years and I’m looking forward to seeing their families grow over the years.
I hate going underwater. I was involved in a disaster of a canoe trip as a child where we flipped over. I went underwater and almost drown with the current of the water.
I collect cookbooks, plaster cats, nativities, lions, Wizard of Oz, key chains, ornaments from trips, nail polish, flip flops, books, and Jim Shore figures.
I bought my first pair of Toms shoes last month and I love them. They are so comfortable. I can’t wait to buy another pair soon.
Blogging is sometimes stressful. That’s why I go without posting for days at a time sometimes. It is a lot of work just to publish one post, but I love it and I will continue to blig even if I don’t see a lot of numbers. I don’t do it for popularity though. I love writing.
Someday we will live on a beach. We love Jekyll Island, St. Simon’s Island, Savannah, Charleston, Amelia Island, and Hilton Head Island. We don’t care where it is just as long as it is closer to an ocean.
After an illness, the first thing I want to eat is frozen burritos. I know that’s not exactly healthy, but it is something that I have been doing since I was a little kid.

Bonus:

I love Paula Deen, Rachael Ray, and Pioneer Woman. I think I have learned just as much about cooking from these women as I have from my mom!

I’m an only child. Mr. RCGG’s siblings aren’t in-laws to me. They are real siblings.

I love baking! My favorite thing to bake is monster cookies. I use my grandma’s recipe and it makes a ton of cookies. I also like decorating cakes. That’s something that I haven’t done in very long time, but want to get back into soon!

Calvin Klein Reveal

I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions are mine.

Calvin Klein Reveal is a new men’s cologne with a fresh scent with a warm and fuzzy feeling. Mr. RCGG thought it had a beachy scent to it and I smelled a warm, but soft musk! I’m not huge fan of musky colognes. They just smell heavy to me and then that scent just lingers for the rest of the day even after you have washed it off.

It has a bit of a salty note to it so Mr. RCGG was right that it had a beachy smell. The other fragrance notes in this cologne are crystallized ginger, and vetiver. I had to look up the definition of vetiver. Here’s how Merriman-Webster defines it: a tall perennial grass (Vetiveria zizanioides) of southeastern Asia cultivated in warm regions especially for its fragrant roots which are used especially in woven goods (as mats) and in perfumes

So basically this cologne does have a beach salt air scent to it as well as an exotic playful scent. Reveal is strong, but not too strong. I kept smelling it on my shirt after I hugged Mr. RCGG while he was wearing it! Haha!

Reveal will be available at Macy’s Department Stores in April! I would recommend getting it for the man in your life! You won’t be disappointed.

Thoughts on Thursday 1

Hey y’all! Wow! It has been awhile since I actually posted something! I have had a bit of writers block over the past few weeks, so I have been a little scarce. Well I’m hoping that this block is over because I am ready to go!! Haha! Today, I’m joining my friend Jen from JVKom Chronicles for Thoughts on Thursday vlog link up! Each week there will be a prompt on what to vlog about! Since this is the first week the prompt is a get to know each other style!

Jen and I met through House of Rose’s Stop and Smell the Roses vlog link up and I am so glad! We have become such great friends over the past year! I consider Jen to be my blog bestie! Haha! Stream of Mind

Sometimes, I’m at a loss as to what to actually write about. I think it has to do something with that it takes me so long to actually gather my thoughts when writing. I want the post to be perfectly organized, but it just ends up making writing harder for me! I love writing and I don’t want to make it harder than it should be! So, with that I’m introducing Stream of Mind. Basically it could be called a brain dump, but I didn’t want to call it that because it sounds horrible. Here’s what’s on my mind…

I’m watching the Australian Open. I used to not be interested in tennis, but I find it fun to watch now that I started playing occasionally. I’m not a huge fan of the Williams sisters, but I’m kind of pulling for Serena to win the women’s final. Although I would like to see Madison Keys win as well. Too bad I’m watching them play each other right now!
I really like Star Trek Deep Space 9. We have been watching it on Netflix over the past few months.
I’m starting Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred as soon as I get it. I bought it on Amazon yesterday along with season 7 of How I Met Your Mother and Mr. RCGG’s Valentine’s Day gift.
Speaking of Valentine’s Day… I have been trying to figure out something fun to do for Mr. RCGG and I think I know what that is now! I’ll post about it next month since he reads my blog sometimes! I don’t want to give away the surprise too early! Haha! Sorry babe!
I want to be on a beach right now! I’m so tired of this back and forth warm then cold weather! I want to be walking along the beach and playing in the waves.
I have been looking for a cute workout headband so that I don’t have to keep borrowing Mr. RCGG’s. I bought him a couple of Under Armor ones for Christmas and he says he doesn’t mind me borrowing one, but I’d like to have my own anyway.

Faith Based. Write more devotional based posts. Become more open to talking about Faith
Finding the Good Posts. Kind of like House of Rose Blog’s Stop and Smell the Roses. Find the good in something and post about it.
Favorites of the Week. Take pictures of random things throughout the week and write a favorites of the week post on Fridays using the pictures. Share pictures during the week on Instagram with #RCGGlife2015

These are my DREAMS for the blog this year! I am so happy to get started on this and many other dreams I have made over the last few years!

Faithful Finish Lines Recap

Hey y’all! As you might remember I was participating in a fitness group over the holidays! I didn’t do that great completing it, but I did make somewhat of a progress. I still have to work on some things in 2015 so I’m doing another round of Couch25K with my niece! She has done a 5K before and I know she can help get me motivated!

I may not have done too well in the fitness part of this program, but I think I did very well in the faithful to God part of the program! Every day I would check in with the Facebook group and pray for members during the day! This was one of my favorite parts of this program! I felt like I got to know people and that they were cheering me on as I was cheering them on!

2015 Blog Goals

I hope you had a great Christmas! I’m working on a Christmas recap and a 2014 recap that I hope to have up by next week!

Every year, people make resolutions for the coming new year! I don’t like to use the word resolution so I make goals instead! I have been making a list throughout the past week for things I want to do or work on for 2015. I have two lists. One for the blog and one for myself. Today, I’ll share my 2015 blog goals!
As for my blogging goals for 2015, I’m going to post more! It has taken me a week and half to write this post! I have had a bit of a blogging blah since right before Christmas! I think I’m out of this blah though because I have worked on two posts in a few hours!

I also want to get a little more exposure for the RCGG Facebook page. I know this is a tough thing to do, but I’m SO close to 200 likes. That was my goal for the end of 2014 and I came so close to but didn’t end up with it! Maybe by the end of January!

Another blog goal I have for 2015 is to get some pictures for my about me page done! My brother in law is an aspiring photographer and he did our wedding pictures!

Somewhere during 2014, I got of crafting! I plan to make that come back for 2015 with some fun projects! One project has to do with a shutter and spray paint!

Dreams

It seems that in the blogging world you are supposed to come up with a word for the upcoming year! I saw it all over the blogosphere this time last year. I thought I would participate this year!

There are some things that I have always wanted to do! Things I have wanted to do, but just haven’t taken the time to do them! You could call them dreams and that’s why my word for 2015 is DREAMS! I want to make these dreams realities.

I will post more about these dreams as 2015 progresses! I hope you have a very blessed 2015!
