My parents short visit

My parents stopped by on their way to Disney World today.

N and I met with them and the friends they are going with at IHOP.  While they are there they will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary.  They will also be celebrating their friend’s parents 50th wedding anniversary. (The whole reason they are going to Disney World in the first place)

Future House Decor

I have been making a list of things I want to decorate with when N and I have our own house.  These are just a couple of the things I have decided on so far.

I love menu boards in the kitchen.  I think it is a cool way to let the family know what is for dinner that night.  I would make it more of a dry erase board than and chalkboard though.  I have seen dry erase boards made out of an old large picture frame and I think that’s how I want to make ours.

I have ALWAYS wanted a vanity.  Ever since my friend’s house burned down and she had one in her room after they rebuilt their house.  I would love to have a huge walk in closet with room for my vanity.  This is not exactly the kind that I want.  I want a dark wood one but not one with the jewelry spot.  I have a standing jewelry box that I love so much already.

I also want a shelf in the kitchen to display my cookbooks and cooking magazines.

My parents gave me a set of Paula Deen cookware for my birthday a couple of years ago.  I love Paula so much.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing what kind of decor style I would like to have in our future house.  I am still looking for ideas and will have more Future House Decor posts.  I think I might make it a bi-monthly thing! =)

Braves vs. Astros

Monday night N and I went to the baseball game.  The Astros were in town.  Braves won 3-2.

It was a very good game.  I can’t wait until our next one.  I don’t know when that is yet!

Thinking of a Change

I think it is time for a change.  Not anything big.  I was thinking it is time for a hairstyle change.  What do you think?

My hair is a little bit longer than this now, but I was thinking about getting this:

I love Victoria Beckham’s style.

Baby Alexis update

I have an update on Miss Alexis.  Her momma said that if everything goes well this week she will be able to come home next Saturday! Alexis is doing great. She is such a strong little girl!  God has for sure been looking over her and holding her in His hand.

Rock Fountain

I found this great fountain in a magazine. I can’t remember which one it was though. It is very easy and shouldn’t take too long to make.

Rock Fountain

What you need:

Submersible fountain pump with two feet of tubing

Square galvanized tub

Several clay pots

Several large rocks

Galvanized bucket

Dril and metal bit

File

Small rocks

Gazing ball

What to do:

1. Place the pump with tubing attached in the bottom of the tub, Fill the bottom with upside down clay pots.

2. Place a layer of rocks on the pots. The tubing should be postionedwhere you want the bucket. Run the power cord out of the tub.

3. Drill a hole near the edge of the bucket’s bottom. File any sharp edges.

4. Run the tubing from the pump through the hole making sure it extends above the top of the bucket.

5. Keep the tuning in place while filling the rest of the tub and bucket with rocks. Set the gazing ball in the bucket and run the tubing behind it.

6. Add water and plug in the pump.

Movie filming and other random stuff

There is a movie filming in our town this week.  How cool is that?  The Three Stooges movie is fliming at an old plantation house.  Check out the details about the movie here.    It is a closed set so we probably won’t be able to get very close.  Here is  link from our local paper about the house where the movie is being filmed.

It has been HOT!  It has already been in the 90’s!  It isn’t even summer yet!  If we have had 90 degree days I can’t imagine what this summer will be like.  I’m not looking forward to that!  I don’t like the heat!  If I get too hot I get sick and pass out.  It’s not pretty!

We recently got a Kindle.  I love it.  I got the whole series of Oz books for  95 cents.  There are 14 books in this series.  =)  I have only read the first book before.  That one is The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.  It is the one that the movie is based on.

We are going to another baseball game Monday.  The Astros will be in town and hopefully it won’t rain.

I haven’t downloaded my pictures from our last game to my computer yet, but I will have that done soon.

I’m back!

I’m back!  Did you miss me?  I didn’t take quite as long on the break than the last one I took around September last year.  Sometimes you just have to stop and slow down.  That is what I needed to do for the past few days.

Did you watch the Royal wedding?  I’m sure Princess Diana was looking down on her boys smiling because they have become such handsome men. I think the Princes of Wales look so handsome in their military uniforms.
Catherine was simply beautiful.  There is no other way to say it.  She was a classic princess bride.  I saw that her wedding gown has been compared to Princess Grace.

What do you think?
Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

What do you think about the big news that our president recently announced?  I think it is great that we don’t have to worry about Bin Laden anymore, but I think if Al-Queda regains strength they could be even more powerful than before.  Pray that this doesn’t happen.

There have been so many awesome crafts come up over the past week.

Want a margarita?  What about some cake?  OR Both?  Kathyrn from Married Filing Jointly has come up with a margarita cake.  Of course it is non-alcoholic.

Over at Eighteen 25 there is an emergency clutch made out of a potholder.  How cool is that  It is very simple to make.  Check it out here.

Have you seen the soap dispensers made out of a mason jar?  Here’s an easy tutorial on how to make one!  I have wanted to make one for some time now and this is the best tutorial I have found on this.  Very easy to follow.

I hope you have enjoyed these cool ideas.  I am still going to be taking a break from Crafty Tuesday for at least another couple of weeks.

Have a great week.
