Southern Illinois storm

These are some of the pictures from Carterville Illinois. My friend Mandy took these. My parents said that they can’t send pictures to me. It is just too devasting for them. I can understand from seeing Mandy’s pictures.

I am amazed that no one was severely injured or killed. I am told that the pictures do not begin to tell of the damage. Carterville is defineitly going to be different now. My dad told me today that the insurance companies downgraded the storm to a tornado because they were not going to pay for any hurricane damage. They are still without power. They are going to my grandma’s to shower because there is four inches of water in their basement. That’s where the shower is. They have been able to cook because of the gas stove and have been taking food over to my grandma and aunt.

I have been talking to my parents every day since Friday. It is just insane that hurricane force winds could rip through a small town in Southern Illinois. Please keep everyone in your prayers as they clean up and try to go about their lives. God was defineitly watching over everyone.
