I am saddened to learn of the death of iconic news anchor, Walter Cronkite. I am too young to actually remember watching him anchor the news. A few years ago, I had the pleasure of seeing Cronkite speak at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. It was such a great experience to hear him talk about the history that he had endured. I was in awe the whole time listening to him speak. He was invited into milions of homes every night. March 6, 1981 was his final broadcast on the CBS evening news. More viewers watched his final news report than Dan Rather’s final report in 2005.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Cronkite. You will be missed.And, That’s the way it is.
