I have always loved the deco mesh wreaths but I never made one because they just looked hard. After a friend taught me how to make then I realized that they are so much easier than I thought they would be!
What you need to make a deco mesh wreath:
4 rolls of deco mesh
pipecleaners or floral wire
wire cutters
wire wreath form
scissors
ribbon
any decorative touches you want to add
First you cut your pipecleaners into small pieces with your wire cutters. I cut mine into thirds. Take the mesh and thread it onto a pipecleaner. You can use the floral wire, but pipecleaners are much easier to work with.
Then you take the mesh and loop it on the second wire from the outside of the wreath form. When you think you have enough of the one color you start over on your second color. With the second color you would do the third and fifth wires on the wreath form.
After you have finished your loops, about four of each color in each section of the wreath form, you take two pieces of ribbon and layer them on top of each other. Pinch the middle together and with a pipecleaner tie it onto a spot on the wreath where you think it looks best. Do this through the whole wreath about two or three ribbons on each section. I did one on the top part of a section and one on the bottom part of a section. For this particular wreath I looped the ribbon instead of cutting it.
The back will look a little messy but I promise the front turns out great!
I had no idea how easy making a deco mesh wreath was and I have so many ideas for others I want to make for different seasons and holidays.
