Santa Paws- Cat Takeover
Hey friends! I have a very special guest post for you today! It’s time for a cat takeover! So, Peachy is going to give you a recap on her visit from Santa Paws!
Hi! It’s Peachy again! Guess what!!!! Santa Paws came to my house! Mommy and Daddy said they told him I was a good girl and he said he would make a very special trip to see me!
We had such a great Christmas! We started out the day by having breakfast! Mommy made sausage balls the day before and we warmed them up for Christmas morning breakfast! They are so easy to make! You just need sausage, shredded cheese, and a pancake mix. You mix that all together. Using your hands is the easiest way. Then you make them into balls and put them in the oven on 400 degrees for about 10-15 minutes. Mommy usually makes them into balls with a cookie scoop! It is so much easier than rolling them all!
After breakfast we opened our gifts! Santa Paws brought me some new toys and some treats! Mommy and Daddy got me a new scratching post and tunnel! I love them!
Mommy got Daddy a cornhole game! Of course, I had to check it out! You know, to make sure it was going to be fun! My conclusion after several minutes of sitting on it, poking my head through the hole, going through the hole, and rolling around under it is that this cornhole thing is a pretty good game!
Mommy and Daddy each open one gift on Christmas Eve. Daddy opened a gift from Mommy’s BFF, Aunt Caryn. When he opened it he told Mommy that she was going to cry! He was right! Mommy cried! This is what it was:
Aunt Caryn took Mommy’s Facebook cover photo of Ollie and put it in this magnetic ornament frame. Mommy put it on our fridge. Thank you so much for this gift to Mommy, Aunt Caryn! We love you. Even if I make you sneeze!! Haha! =)
After we opened gifts on Christmas morning Mommy put dinner in the crock pot! We have Italian beef and mashed potatoes for Christmas dinner. Mommy says that she doesn’t want to make a huge fuss for meals on Christmas so we have simple things and I don’t blame her! Simple gives her more time to spend the day with Daddy and me!
So as you can see we had a great visit from Santa Paws! I can’t wait for him to come again! I may have already asked Mommy how many more days until Christmas!!
Mommy, Daddy, and I hope you have a great MEW year! Happy 2019!!!
Thanks so much for your takeover Peachy cat! You have adjusted so well to being an only cat! You are such a good girl and I know your big sister is watching you play, run around, and eating treats!
My 2019 Words of the Year
Over the past couple of years, I have been coming up with a word for the year. It has been all over the blog world and though I’m not sure of the origins of it it is a great way to decide how you want your new year to go. Last year I came up with e words for different categories of my life. It helped to keep me on track of the different areas of my life that I knew I needed a little help with. This year, I’m doing the same thing and wanted to share my words with you!
Goodbye 2018
2018 is coming to a close! There are so many things that have happened this year. Some were good and some weren’t so good. Looking back on this year I realize just how much God has blessed us with in 2018! I know that there’s so much more to look forward to in 2019!
Unwinding from the Hustle
During the holiday season there is a sense of RUSH RUSH RUSH! We tend to forget that we need to take time to enjoy the season. You need to stop and take a moment to unwind from the hustle, but what exactly does that mean? It means that you need to take some time for some self-care. What is self care? I’m sharing some of my favorite self care ideas to unwind after a busy holiday season.

Non-Traditional Holiday Meals
With the holidays coming up there are so many staple meals that we tend to have! On Thanksgiving we have turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, etc. On Christmas we tend to have ham, mashed potatoes, etc. These are the traditional meals. We don’t stray too far from the Thanksgiving traditions, however for Christmas we don’t have traditional meals. For today, I wanted to share some other non traditional holiday meals with a round up! Enjoy!

To Ask the Lord’s Blessing
This week we gather with family and friends this week to give thanks for what God has given us. Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what you are grateful for in your life! You shouldn’t just limit this to Thanksgiving though! God tells us to enter His gates with Thanksgiving in our hearts. Rejoice in what He has given us and praise His name! Giving thanks shouldn’t be limited to November. You should give thanks every day! With the way social media has taken over our world it seems that people have forgotten how to be grateful. It isn’t that hard to say thank you when someone does something nice for you.
Handwritten cards are one of my favorite ways to show someone that I am grateful for them! Letting someone know that you appreciate them may seem so small but it may mean the world to someone!
Showing your gratitude can be as simple as just saying thank you to someone! I hope you have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy the day with your family and friends.
This post is part of a blog party! Stop by the other blogs to see what they are thankful for this year!

Heavy Hearts- Cat Takeover
Hi Mommy’s blog friends! It’s Peachy! I decided that I needed to take over the blog today.
We had a sad event happen in our house on November 10th. It is with a very heavy heart that I must tell you that my beautiful big sister has passed away. She passed very peacefully with Mommy and Daddy by her side all day. They made sure she was comfortable while laying on one of her favorite blankets, covered up to keep her warm, and had her favorite toy beside her. Mommy even made sure she had a few of her favorite treats beside her just in case she felt like eating. I don’t think she ate them though. I was in the living room while Mommy and Daddy were in the bedroom with her!
I learned so much from Ollie as I watched her throughout the ten years I was blessed with her! She taught me that it is okay to yell at the top of your lungs just because you feel like it! She taught me that you need your ears scratched and your tummy rubbed! I love a good tummy rub, but she also told me that sometimes you have to let them know when you have had enough and swat their hand away with just enough claw that it makes a bit of a mark! That’s how I perfected the one claw pay attention to me thing that I do!
Ollie and I may not have been best friends throughout our lives together but I think in the end she really was my best friend! She will always be my big sister and I love her more than anything!
Mommy has set up a memorial fund in Ollie’s memory with one of our favorite animal shelters, Palmetto Animal League. If you would like to make a donation please find this post on the blog Facebook page. Mommy said that she will match the donations.
Thanks so much for the sweet words about your big sister Peachy Cat! She may not have shown it but she loved you very much! The two of you wore so different but I’m not sure if you knew that you knew you were the same! Ollie loved tuna, ranch dressing, cheese, treats, eggs, etc. Basically she loved food! She loved to play and run around but over the past several months she had slown down. I know Ollie is running around again in Heaven and knowing her the first thing she probably did when she got there was smack Andy, my cocker spaniel growing up, on the nose! He got up in her face when she was a kitten and she whapped him in the nose! She showed him who was boss and he never got that close to her again! In the next few months I will share the story of how I got Ollie!
I’d like to share some of my favorite pictures of my kitten with you! Thank you so much for your love and support through our loss!
Life Happens Sometimes
You know what? Life happens sometimes! Sometimes life throws hurricanes and tropical storms at you and there is nothing you can do about it! That’s what happened this past week! We were watching Hurricane Michael wondering where it would hit in Florida and if it would still be a hurricane when it got to us! Unfortunately, it hit Florida as a category 4 storm and there was major damage done there. However, we got the storm as a tropical storm and only got a lot of wind and rain. We had some tree branches blow down but there was no major damage to our home.
I got off track of my bullet journaling posts! That’s okay though! Honestly over the month of September while I was preparing for this year’s series I came to the conclusion that bullet journaling isn’t really my style of planning. I would rather have my planner already made out for me! Haha! I enjoy keeping the lists like new places to eat, books read, books to read, etc. The trackers and everything else is just not for me though!
I would much rather devote my blog to crafts, recipes, and just general life in the RCGG house! So in the next few weeks I will be getting back to what Random Crafty Georgia Girl was pretty much founded on! I have some crafts and recipes that I’ll be making and sharing with you! I can’t wait for you to see what is in store!
